Newspapers in Education

Newspapers in Education is a national initiative where major Australian publishers support learning in our schools by providing free newspapers to schools to support learning.

Newspapers and magazines are vital texts that never outdate.  They contain valuable information that reflects current social attitudes, issues and events.  By reading the papers the publishing industry provides to schools, students are exposed to a variety of forms of information and communication about our society.

Newspapers can be used across all areas of the curriculum to enhance learning and development of values and attitudes, skills, and knowledge and understanding.  They also provide a valuable source of up-to-date current affairs for discussion.

Visit the NiE site of your nearest participating newspaper to find fantastic educational resources specifically designed for local curriculum.
